OUR STORE LOCATION
Getting from Bondi to our Randwick shop
We don’t have a shop in Bondi (NSW 2026), Bondi Beach or Bondi Junction (NSW 2022). Our one store is our Randwick repair shop on Belmore Road, the main shopping strip near the Randwick light rail stops.
- By car: Randwick sits just south of Bondi Junction. Tap the directions button below for the current drive time from where you are; traffic around Bondi Junction and Oxford Street varies a lot through the day.
- By public transport: buses connect Bondi Junction with Randwick. Use the Transport for NSW Trip Planner with “102 Belmore Road, Randwick” as the destination for the current route and times.
- Before you travel: call 0470 505 835 with your iPhone model so we can check the part is in stock.
Is there a closer option? If you work in Bondi Junction and need a quick fix on your lunch break, a shop in the Junction will be closer. Customers usually make the trip to us when they want a firm price first, a second opinion on a water-damaged phone, or honest advice about whether an older iPhone is worth repairing. Call before you travel and we’ll tell you if the part is in stock.

PROBLEMS
Common mobile problems in Bondi and how to solve them
Salt, sand, sun and the odd wave cause most of the iPhone faults we see from the eastern suburbs. Here’s what to do first, and when to bring it in.
Turn it off, don’t charge it, and let it dry somewhere with airflow. Skip the rice and hairdryer. Salt water can corrode the board days later, as iPhones are water-resistant, not waterproof.
Bring it in when: it went under, the glass is cracked, or anything works oddly once dry.
There’s moisture in the charging port, so the phone has paused cable charging. Unplug it, let it dry and try again after at least 30 minutes. Full drying can take up to 24 hours.
Bring it in when: the alert keeps returning, or appears when the phone hasn’t been wet.
Try another cable and adapter first. If that doesn’t help, sand or lint is probably packed into the port. Loosen it gently with a wooden toothpick, never anything metal.
Bring it in when: cleaning doesn’t work or the cable feels loose. We clean first and replace the port only if it’s damaged.
Check Settings › Battery › Battery Health. Around 80% maximum capacity, sudden shutdowns or a “Service” message mean the battery is worn.
Bring it in when: you see any of those signs, or the screen is lifting at one edge (stop charging it).
Usually not. Move it into the shade, take the case off and let it cool on its own. Never put it in the fridge or cold water.
Bring it in when: it gets hot sitting idle or while charging normally.
Sand and water collect in the grilles. Lay the phone speaker-down to drain, then brush gently with a soft, dry toothbrush. For blurry photos, wipe the lens with a microfibre cloth.
Bring it in when: sound stays muffled or the camera still won’t focus.
Try a force restart: volume up, volume down, then hold the side button. If it’s flat and dry, leave it on a charger for 30 minutes.
Bring it in when: neither works. If your photos matter, tell us first; see our water-damaged iPhone photo recovery case study.

| Water / salt-water damage assessment | Phone got wet, restarts, no sound, no power | Free check and honest report before any repair; no guaranteed outcome; no fix, no fee |
| Speaker / microphone | Muffled calls, no ringtone, callers can't hear you | Cleaned and tested; part replaced if needed |

PROCESS
iPhone repairs we do for Bondi customers
- Call or bring it in. Call 0470 505 835 with your model and the problem. We’ll tell you if the part is likely in stock before you travel.
- Diagnosis and quote before work. A technician checks the phone and explains what’s wrong, the price and the expected time. Nothing is done until you agree.
- Repair and test. We repair the fault and test the phone’s main functions (charging, sound, cameras, Face ID where relevant) before handing it back.
- Collect with warranty. You pay when it’s done. Replaced parts carry a 3-month warranty; keep your receipt or a bank statement showing payment to Smart Fone for any claim. If we can’t fix it, you don’t pay.

EXCELLENT Based on 168 reviews Posted on Charlotte FootTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ash was able to fix a very complex and complicated issue with my iPhone. I highly recommend this place 100% with your iPhone problems and it is very reasonably pricedPosted on Natale DCTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Went in to change my phone screen protector and had a great experience. The guy was super friendly, did it really fast, and the price was cheap too. Definitely recommend 👍Posted on FinnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This man is absolutely phenomenal best technician ever honestly I only wish amazing things on this repair store absolutely incredible this man has fixed my screens twicePosted on J GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you’re too young to remember what a proper honest businessman is like then I’d recommend just going to meet Meher even if you don’t require his services. He is not only the best technically at fixing things that I’ve ever seen, he is genuinely a kind, caring and honest man. He doesn’t look to take advantage of anyone with his prices he only looks to have a sustainable business model which is built on honesty with his customers. He fixed my iPhone 13 mini screen 3 times - he didn’t charge me for the third time because he said I’d been a loyal customer after buying a case and a screen protector of him previously. I wouldn’t go anywhere else in Sydney for a gadget repair. One of the rare ones still left who isn’t trying to metaphorically have your pants down with an overpriced and dodgy service. Thanks again Meher!Posted on Amanda FarmerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fixed my iphone17 screen much cheaper than I was quoted elsewhere and FAST! Recommended 👍Posted on BrandonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Super friendly guy gave me a great discount on my screen repair. Would highly recommend.Posted on Jessica PooleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My phone screen smashed. They fixed it in 45 minutes. Very happy with the service. Shop owner was very kind and helpful. 10/10 service. Would recommend this place.Posted on Oisín LaniganTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great guy! Fast and affordable.
FAQ's
Is there an iPhone repair shop in Bondi itself?
There are phone repair shops in Bondi Junction, but Smartfone isn’t one of them. Our only store is at 102 Belmore Road, Randwick. If you’re searching “iPhone repair near me” from Bondi, we’re a short drive away, and we’ll confirm the price and part by phone before you travel.
How long does an iPhone battery replacement take?
Battery replacements are usually done the same day, depending on your model and whether the battery is in stock. Call ahead with your model and we’ll check stock, so the trip from Bondi isn’t wasted.
How much does iPhone repair in Bondi cost?
It depends on your model and the fault, so we don’t list one price for everyone. We check the phone at no charge and give you the full price before starting, with no hidden fees, so you can decide whether the repair is worth it for your phone.
Is my data safe during a repair?
Most repairs, such as a battery or charging port, don’t touch your data. Back up to iCloud or a computer first if you can, as any repair carries a small risk. You may need to give us your passcode so we can test the phone afterwards; ask us how that’s handled.
Do you use original Apple parts?
We use high-grade parts that meet manufacturer specifications. On recent iPhones, iOS may show a non-genuine part message under Settings › General › About › Parts and Service History. We’ll tell you which part we’re fitting and how it affects the price before we start.
Can a water-damaged iPhone be fixed?
Often, but not always. It depends on how long it was wet, whether it was salt water, and whether it was charged while wet. We open and inspect the phone, then tell you what we found and the cost. Sometimes the best outcome is getting your photos off it rather than saving the phone.
Is it worth repairing an older iPhone?
If the rest of the phone works well, a battery or charging port repair usually costs far less than a new phone. If the phone no longer gets iOS updates or needs several repairs at once, replacing it may make more sense. We’ll give you our honest view along with the quote.
